This archive was conceived in 2010. Archaos Circus existed in a world where the internet was not yet being used as it is today. As a result the mountains of press coverage, stories, images, and film generated by this legendary and influential circus can’t be found in one place.
In September 2010 ex-member of Archaos held an exhibition on London’s South Bank where old clowns, images, film, and stories came together to honour the memory of Archaos Circus founder, creator and father Pierrot Bidon. On the back of the exhibition money was generously donated by ex Archaos members and Friends of Pierrot to create this archive. Without the generosity of those listed below bringing the original site to fruition would not have been possible.
Unfortunately (due to an error on their part) in early 2024 the website hosting company took the archive down and deleted all the content. As a result we crowd sourced some funding and rebuilt the archive. We will slowly repopulate it with as much of the archive as possible unfortunately some content has been lost for ever.
Again thank you to everyone who has helped rebuild either by donating a few Euro's/Quid's or by publishing content.
If you were inspired by Archaos and would like to help you can do so via the donate button on the site or by contributing to the archive.
